Stopped over at Joann's today - got the end of a bolt of bleached muslin for underthings and lining, the end of a bolt of the "potting soil" brown linen-look they wouldn't send me before for the 1918 skirt, and some brick red (called "biking red" for some reason) supposedly 100% wool for a spencer. I was thinking about the dark blue but I tend to always go for blue. I liked the idea of a pelisse (it's long so warmer, and this one is very nice) but the wool was $17.99/yard and I'm not willing to spend too much. Although when I hold it up to me, I think it might be possible to have it go down to mid-calf, and I could make a circassian robe (which I assume is pleated in the back). I'll have to draw it out on graph paper and see what size it turns out.

This morning or last night I came across this Prezi, probably by teenagers, that is chock-full of stupid corset facts. Part of me wants to message them and tell them how wrong they are, most of me realizes this is a bad impulse and should be ignored.

CAPTIVE PRINCE PAPERBACKS, OMG. But I will probs just get the ebook. Amazon told me I could get 19th Century Fashion in Detail for under $30, and I was planning to get it, plus most of my reading these days is on the Kindle. I have a million books on my shelves.

I appear not to have mentioned yet that last night's Parks & Rec was AMAZING. I am Ben Wyatt. I also have forgotten to mention the Cracked article 6 Ridiculous Myths About the Middle Ages Everyone Believes, which is awesome.
